“Website analytics” is a powerful tool that is delivers you world-class insights based on what is happening on your website or app, and how customers are interacting with your business. We recently co-wrote an article with Suraj Pabari (ex-Google and partner at Singleview) on the power of digital analytics.
It can help you work out where to invest precious resource to grow your business. And equally, where you might be wasting time. Without data, quite often we’re flying blind or using “guesswork” to prioritise.
Imagine for a moment…
It’s a little bit like taking a survey of every single customer who visited your retail shop, when they arrive, and another survey on their way out the door… Which items did they take an interest in? Which aisles did they visit? Did they buy anything? And how about overall this month, were there any products that nobody even looked at?
Sounds powerful. If this tool was free to run, would you implement it? If you’re not already using website analytics (such as Google Analytics or another platform), it might be worth setting it up.
If you’re large enough (and lucky enough!) to have a marketing team, this might be someone’s regular responsibility. And once up and running you can make sure you’re getting the big insights, as opposed to getting lost in new datasets you don’t have time for.

- Train your marketing team or person on Google Analytics – there are lots of free resources out there to learn from.
